Rob and Samira Fisher, a young couple and new parents, relocate to Rob's childhood home on Ashfield Place, a quaint cul-de-sac in the idyllic suburb of Hinkley Hills. Their quiet life quickly unravels when a mysterious man moves into the house across the street -- a creepy Victorian that has been abandoned for over twenty years. After observing suspicious behavior and learning about local lore, Samira starts suspecting that things are not quite what they seem. Home alone on maternity leave, she finds friendship with a ragtag group of quirky neighbors who join her in investigatory misadventures that bring them closer to the dark truths about their town. As she digs deeper, Samira begins to uncover long-buried secrets and deadly threats that shatter Hinkley Hills' reputation as "The Safest Town in America." What starts as amateur sleuthing quickly escalates and, as danger creeps closer to home, Samira must decide how far she's willing to go to protect her family and her community.

In perhaps the series’ greatest sin, given the envious trio of Palmer, Pell, and Proksch, it’s not even a good hang. All three proven performers have their moments, but they elevate the show, not the other way around. Go to Full Review

A fun and terrifying series highlighting secrets, how little we really know our neighbors and the horrors of suburbia. Go to Full Review

A lumpy, though not unpleasant, mélange of uneven tones, thin characters and less-than-airtight reveals, The ’Burbs may not send anyone running for the hills -- but it’s unlikely to inspire anyone to put down stakes there, either. Go to Full Review

Because of the performances of Keke Palmer and the fantastic supporting cast, we’re all in on The ‘Burbs, despite some concerns about aspects of the plot that won’t get the attention they deserve. Go to Full Review

B P @Bradster69 4h ‘The ‘Burbs’ Is A Formulaic Cul-De-Sac That Struggles To Make Its Case See more Nicholas D @Nickdk1223 4h You know if you see the hate group calling it "woke" than means it's a must see and actually a good show. The cast is great and the setting is even better. See more Carol M @Carol638 5h Loooove this show. hope this gets renewed. Never a dull moment. Keeps the storyline interesting. See more King R @Tomsson80 6h I watched the entire series. I initially thought it wasn't for me, as I really love the 80s film and didn't think a modern reimagining was necessary. But it was a pleasant surprise. From the very beginning, the series captivated me. The cinematography is beautiful, the characters are interesting, and there's a touch of mystery, plenty of suspense, and even humor – I really wasn't expecting that. After the fourth episode, I couldn't stop watching. The atmosphere of the series is also lovely, but that's a matter of personal taste. I hope there will be a second season someday. See more W.L. C @WayneCampbell 6h In no way does it live up to the IP it's ripping off. The storyline is boring and the actors aren't even committed to the roles in which they've been cast. I'm all for updating a beloved favorite, but this ain't it. The pace of a syphilitic snail, no imagination, and cinematography that could be accomplished by a toddler with mommy's smartphone. I'll stick with Joe's original masterwork, thanks. See more Tim M @tomatoes_binger 7h The 'Burbs is a total blast and the perfect mix of suspense and satire. Keke Palmer is absolutely magnetic as Samira, proving once again that her comedic timing and charisma are unmatched. I was also so hyped to see Kathleen Kenny pop up; she was a total scene-stealer in The Sex Lives of College Girls, and she brings that same unforgettable energy to her role here. It is honestly such a treat seeing her show up in these smaller parts because she always makes the most of every second on screen. If you want a show that’s both hilarious and weirdly gripping, this is a must-watch! See more Read all reviews
