Trata-se de um filme plenamente consciente de suas regras, mas que raramente se arrisca para além delas. A ambientação em uma pequena cidade mineradora surge como seu maior trunfo. As sequências ambientadas dentro da mina exploram com eficiência a claustrofobia, o jogo de sombras e a sensação constante de aprisionamento — um potencial que o filme apenas insinua. Fora desse núcleo, contudo, a obra tropeça em fragilidades recorrentes do slasher oitentista: personagens pouco memoráveis ou interessantes, uma narrativa previsível e um ritmo irregular, que oscila entre a repetição mecânica e a estagnação dramática. O assassino mascarado possui impacto visual, mas carece do peso simbólico que elevaram outros slashers à condição de ícones. See more Screen_Stack S @Screen_Stack Feb 6 The Good: The movie itself is pretty middle of the road, even for a slasher flick from the very early 80s. The practical effects for all the killings (this IS a slasher movie after all) are surprisingly good, especially one scene where an eyeball pops out of it's socket. Is that gross? Sure, but it's nothing in comparison to some of the other horror movies that came out in the 80s. Being SUPER DUPER Canadian is and is not a bonus here, but I thought the Nova Scotian accents were just great, so ... here we are, with that in The Good. As they used to say over dere 'Lord Tunderin' Jaysus'. The Ugly: TJ, wearing a neckerchief. I can't take it seriously. At. All.
