Gary "Eggsy" Unwin (Taron Egerton), whose late father secretly worked for a spy organization, lives in a South London housing estate and seems headed for a life behind bars. Vaughn has proven himself an expert at adapting stories of such ilk, and here's another one—a film that seems to belong on the comic's page, but Vaughn brings it to the screen with a hilariously depraved edginess.

Straight up Phenomenal! Non-stop thrill ride from start to finish. Whoa, that background score? Mind-blowing! Action sequences were absolutely breathtaking. Basic plot on paper, but the execution and presentation turned it into something truly spectacular.

Iconic action movie that defined its own style of action sequences, launched the career of Taron Egerton and created an entire franchise. Rarely do you see an action movie elevate itself beyond "innocent fun", but this movie truely sets itself apart and dared to reinvent action movies within it's own style.

While it didn't resonate with me personally, Kingsman is far from terrible. The James Bond-esque concept is intriguing, and the film delivers on laughs, clever direction, and action sequences, thanks to standout performances from the cast. Grading: B
