Angela W @Angelastlouis 3d The musical numbers were delightful - so fun and sweet with heartfelt, catchy songs that didn’t drag on and surprisingly well - choreographed dancing! The narration by the main character was creative and amusing. The characters in the family were quirky and exaggerated but endearing. The main plot was original and intriguing …but then, started to fall flat. I HATED Woody Allen as the male lead! Casting himself in this role nearly ruined the movie. It was so unbelievable that either Julia Roberts or Goldie Hawn would have fawned over him the way they did, even under the supposed circumstances - and not just cause of his lack of Hollywood sex appeal - but because of his acting. He just didn’t convince me. Who let him cast himself? There was so much potential for this movie to be REALLY good. Besides a blatant miscast, and an ending that could have had a bit more of a punch, it was still worth a watch and overall good entertainment because of the musical numbers and originality. A A-list cast of Hollywood actors star in this movie, from Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, Tim Roth, to Drew Barrymore. It was funny watching Ed Norton turn from a devious character to a funny, cute, sweet character who is in love. He also sings and dance, which pays homage to his Broadway experience. While the movie’s story line was not captivating to me personally, Norton’s induvial story line, romancing and singing to Barrymore’s character was charming. See more Alan R Nov 7 This movie is a joy from beginning to end. It is funny, sad, nostalgic and a wonderful shoutout to New York, Paris and Venice in that order. The characters are believable, the stories are excellent and Allen manages to bring the whole thing together in his usual inimitable way. Years from now it will bring smiles to anyone who watches it. See more Alain E @AlainE Jul 23 Extremely funny take on classic musicals as adjusted by Woody Allen. The only part I found weak was the dance number in Paris and the final scene with Goldie Hawn. On the other hand the dance sequences at Harry Winston and at the hospital are very good. Drew Barrymore inadvertently swallows her engagement ring and after X rays at the hospital, she gets many compliments for how nice it looks. Woody Allen, disappointed in love, thinks of flying back to Paris to jump from the Eiffel tower and is trying to figure out how the time difference will work if he flies on the Concord. And a piece of wisdom: Weddings make a lot of people sad, but if you’re not the groom, you’re not so bad. See more Jose B May 28 Woddy Allen goes to the Musicals.. And "Chapeau". The film is entertaining and a real rarity into Musicals but it's charming and stands out into Allen movies as a film of bravura. Enjoy the film while you can..
