Metal S 07/08/2023 They keep changing the name of this film, the single worst fantasy film i have ever seen. I hope to god it appears on RLM one day. See more Chris J 10/25/2021 Age of the Hobbits- Not Rated (1h 27m) 2012 - Action, Adventure, Fantasy 1/5 stars The most interesting part of this film is the legal trouble that went on behind the scenes. The Asylum got sued by Warner Bros. Pictures to prevent the release of the film under its original title "The Age of the Hobbits." At some point the name was changed to "Clash of Empires," and again to "Lord of the Elves". No matter the name, the film in question was the first ever that I watched from The Asylum. (technically the second because I watched The Amityville Haunting.) This was the first I watched intentionally. I really think this was far better than it deserved to be, which shocked me. The acting was pretty bad but far from the worst I've seen. The CG was bad but also far better than I expected as well. I was expecting a film that was completely terrible, instead I got a film that just wasn't good. I know that's an odd way to review a film but it's the best way I could put into words. The most jarring part was that the film felt like it was poorly dubbed. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. Bad acting, cheesy effects, and what sealed it was a "native" with a distinct thick southern accent.
