Some family films are perfectly decent entertainments for their intended audience, no more no less. It is into this category that we can slot Buffalo Kids. It’s amiable and rattles along nicely enough without ever really surprising anyone. Go to Full Review

Buffalo Kids is a formulaic but delightful animated film about lost orphans chased by bandits in California in 1886. This Wild West story stands out for having forward-thinking and empathetic portrayals of a wheelchair-using child and Native Americans. Go to Full Review

There is no shortage of nods to 'Titanic' or 'Taxi Driver'... for adults. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Rachel 3d Wonderful family movie! Charming, low stress, heartwarming, genuine character relationships and dialog. Very refreshing! See more Christopher W 6d A beautiful story with much-needed positive Native American representation! My only gripe is the safety messaging—the disclaimer that 'wildlife is dangerous' only appears during the credits. It’s a bit of a missed opportunity for a teaching moment during the actual movie, especially for younger viewers. See more Dovid C. @DaveCob613 4d Breathtaking. Warm. Exciting. Both visually and emotionally, a film like this is why I go to the theater. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 4d Buffalo Kids arrives quietly as one of the first animated releases of 2026, lacking the hype of major studio films but offering a heartfelt and thoughtful experience. The animation is polished and visually appealing, creating a charming world that blends Western influences with modern storytelling. The film’s strongest element is Nick, a paralyzed boy who cannot speak, yet is portrayed as a true hero without relying on clichés or sentimentality. His role brings refreshing and meaningful representation to animation. The story also embraces diversity through Native American culture and a strong supporting character, giving the film emotional depth and authenticity. While it may only be "cute" rather than groundbreaking, its sincerity stands out. Sadly, weak marketing may prevent it from reaching a wide audience. Still, Buffalo Kids deserves recognition for its heart, inclusivity, and quietly inspiring message. See more Shin U. @Shin_ultramania22 Feb 8 Nicely animated and fun family movie for everyone to enjoy See more Rickie J Feb 6 Beautiful movie, completely unexpected. Great messaging for children of all ages. I hope that it doesn’t get ignored, it touch me in a way that major productions have not in a long time. See more Read all reviews
