retro b @retrobite Feb 2 It is interesting how they use Margarita’s illness as a symptom of her parasitic class. She does not love the baker; she loves the excess he represents in her regulated world. Only contact with the bread deliveryman restores her life. On the other hand, Margarita’s father is fascinating because he hates Tin Tan out of fear that the real—raw poverty and joy—might contaminate his bubble of reality. It is a comedy of the clueless one’s revolt against the structure of bourgeois boredom. It is, undoubtedly, a poetic ambush. Este tipo de trama es recurrente en el cine de la época, donde personajes de clases populares conquistan a aquellos de mayor estatus social mediante su carisma y buen corazón, desafiando estereotipos. Y si bien la historia no tiene profundidad, su propósito es entretener y generar risas, algo que consigue muy bien gracias a la mezcla de enredos, malentendidos y personajes entrañables que reflejan las preocupaciones y sueños del público de aquella época.
