We never really understand what’s going on with the zombies; it’s kind of like death in that way. When a person you love is taken, you’re forced to put these meanings onto a blank canvas … A really interesting meditation on how different people cope.

Where other actors might be content to half-zombie-shuffle through low-budget films like this for an easy paycheck, Ridley’s commitment to her performance is admirable. We Bury the Dead has modest ambitions, and meets them for the most part.

This is not your typical action zimbie film, it's more of a psychological sad thriller.. sometimes things that can happen to you are worse then death. You follow Ava a wife determined to find her already most likely dead husband. She signs up for body identification and removal.. as we follow her on this journey you see parts of her life with her husband unfolding and it becomes more clear why she wants/needs closure. She enlist's a partner to help her on her way. Because of course the path is forbidden and blocked. They made some interesting choices.. the zombies looked cool but only bit their own teeth. Which definitely got to ppl with the grinding.. almost like the creepy grudge kids sounds.. if their wasn't the few laugh out loud moments and little twists it probably would have sucked.. Fun fact.. they did indeed bury the dead. 2.5/5

great zombie movie had me jumping out of my seat a couple of times very different from other zombie movies but still with the tenacity and originality that I believe George a Romero might approved I definitely approve and I can say with no regret that this movie was very entertaining.
