Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. We DO come to this place for magic, and even with a some missteps along the way, Project Hail Mary successfully launches audiences into space, taking us all on a magical journey worth seeing on the big screen. (Project) Hail Mary full of Grace, indeed.

It may not be perfect, and it may be 20 minutes too long, but it does what the best space exploration movies do: make you feel small in the scheme of the universe while somehow embigening our sense of what we might contribute to it.

An outstanding film that genuinely reflects the book's core! I valued the faithful adaptation from pages to screen, along with the additional scenes like Rocky’s ship, Earth receiving Ringo, the glowing Petrova line, Ryland’s habitat at the end, and so on. The flashbacks effectively helped Ryland Grace and us gain a deeper understanding of his character and how he ended up on that ship. They also portrayed Rocky’s character beautifully, even including how he perceives the world—a creative touch that made his character stand out! He is among the best sci-fi characters.
