Tyler Perry's Finding Joy follows Shannon Thornton as Joy, a New York fashion designer whose talents are overshadowed by her boss. Just like her career, Joy has been unlucky in love. Encouraged by her steadfast friends Ashley (Brittany S. Hall) and Littia (Inayah), Joy follows her crush Colton (Aaron O'Connell) to Colorado, hoping for holiday magic. Instead, a shocking revelation and a snowstorm leave her stranded. At her lowest, Joy meets Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola), a chance encounter that transforms her perspective on life and love.

It’s Perry’s version of a holiday movie and a connect-the-dots love story, but it’s cliché-driven in such a minimal way that it almost makes you yearn for the Perry movies that can feel like a long night of channel surfing all rolled into one.

Perry shows he can easily put his spin on the romance drama formula and craft a film that should satisfy both hopeful and hopeless romantics. While that might not be a Christmas miracle, it certainly is a welcome development for future Perry films.

The picture isn’t romantic or amusing, it’s just boring, watching Perry stick with cliché and uninspired dialogue while trying to stretch a simple concept in the most fatigued ways.

It's not cinema, it's a kind of low-key soap opera whose dialogues follow cliché after cliché... Each dialogue hurts the ears... How can Amazon produce such things?? Even Tyler Perry is a better actor than the entire cast combined...

I enjoyed this movie. Clean, cute and funny. Hallmarkish in a good way. It was also nice to see some new faces on the screen. Will definitely watch again.

Cute. Predictably like a Hallmark movie. Yes, it’s unrealistic, but we watch movies to enter a fantasy world. I enjoyed it and watched multiple times. I’m watching it now lol

How can one grown ass woman be so dumb & ignorant. Everybody Errrrrrrybody told her there’s a snow blizzard but nah this dumb ass had to go out into it. Bish could have been laid up in a hotel for afew days before catching her flight outta that hole but nah TP gotta always make black women look weak & dumb. Errrrrytime!
