After many years of marriage, Pete (Paul Rudd) is the sole male in a household that includes his wife, Debbie (Leslie Mann), and two young daughters (Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow). As Pete struggles to keep his record label afloat, he and Debbie navigate a three-week course of sex and romance, career victories and financial hardships, aging parents and maturing children. See more Bruce W @Maverick1926 Nov 30 Somehow I’ve managed not to have ever seen this movie before now. Having seen the clip where Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann & Melissa McCarthy are in the principal’s office several times on social media, I thought I would give it a go and chose today as Netflix informed me it was leaving the platform soon. Despite its age I found it very funny and great performances from all. I still failed to recognise Megan Fox not being a fan of the Transformers movies and having only really seen her in the woeful Expendables 4. May have to track down the movie this is not the sequel to apparently Knocked Up which I’ve also not seen. See more Alex P @RT25599780 Oct 17 A proper modern classic IMO. See more Rebecca L @RT87089156 Sep 28 It's an acceptable film. It might be a decent background film. But why is it over 2 hours long? It felt like this film wanted to waste my time. Nothing much actually happens which tends to be the case in romance/comedy/drama type films with this one but with Paul Rudds character is straight up a terrible person and the child actors are so bad, I felt it was 2 hours spent relatively uncomfortable. I found the film didn't feel very realistic either, in the dialogue and the choices made during the film. Some dialogue felt unnatural and not like things these characters would have said if they resembled real people. If this weren't a drama or whatever it's meant to be, I don't think it'd be noticable but the entire film is talking, so when the dialogue isn't believable you lose a lot of integrity to the film. Overall not one I'd recommend but it's not absolutely terrible. The music and production forces the latter but the raunchy dialogue yearns to be funnier than it really is. Still, the solid performances given by the cast recover this movie to be worth watching.
