Jack F @MovieFan111 Jan 28 This was a very cool documentary, and it was very funny. It really exposes how corrupt and stupid (use for a stronger word) the MPAA can be. It's crucial that I understand at least a little bit how delicately they operate and rate things because I am an aspiring filmmaker. It's all upsetting. This movie shines a light on the movie rating system that impacts American cinema and how it really isn't as rock-solid of a system as you might think on the surface. I think the movie should be watched by cinema lovers and aspiring filmmakers because it is going to be relevant for years to come even though it came out in 2006. Overall, it is one of the best documentaries I have seen in part because I was already interested in the subject matter, but mostly because of how eye-opening and interesting it was the whole way through. The film starts by asking director's for their experiences with the MPAA. I wish there were more directors who leant their stories to this film, as this part was interesting but cut too short. The conversations with the two private directors really dragged and definitely needed an edit. The ending of the film was the most humorous and interesting part of the film, which was where the film's director asked for the film to be rated. Overall, an interesting exposé into the inner workings of the MPAA but sometimes becomes very boring with the amount of filler that was inserted to pad out the runtime.
