This lean, mean, R-rated action machine is better than you'd think since Momoa and Bautista take the time, between fights and jokes, to examine the bruised places in the hearts of these half brothers. You feel for them, and that makes all the difference.

Bautista & Momoa make for a fun duo, but the story is wholly unoriginal and packed with action-comedy clichés. The chase scenes are reminiscent of the Fast and Furious movies, with amped up violence and profanities.

These two main actors, [Momoa & Bautista], their chemistry and physicality overcomes some of the generic pieces of the plot. In terms of a solid action flick, with some good banter, I recommend this flick.

We really enjoyed it. Yes, you are going to have your carnage and mayhem, it is Momoa and Bautista for goodness sake. But you also got a nice brotherly reunion. I always appreciate the human side of Dave Bautista and this movie brought that out.

As a Navy Veteran, the biggest thing that bothered me was how unsat Bautista’s Navy uniform was. Messed up collar, messed up cover, messed up sleeves and I’m pretty sure he had did not have a no-shave chit! Personal quarrels aside, this is a fun movie. I think Bautista and Mamoa embody big & lil bro energy perfectly. Besides obvious usage of cgi, they utilized the beauty and culture of Hawaii & New Zealand as almost another character. The action is good even if it’s too knee numbing for me, I think the cinematography was great and was enhanced by the score of Bobby Krlic, his work is great and just as action packed as the scenes imo. It’s definitely a streaming movie, lots of exposition here and there, but the story & non expository dialogue is entertaining even if the mystery isn’t as layered as it could have been. A fun watch and a good action movie to just enjoy, especially if you’re a fan of Dave Bautista and/or Jason Mamoa. Luckily I’m a fan of both!

The movie was full of action, which is why my wife and I chose it in the first place. The main characters family disfunction is a major part of the movie and was believable. There was drama and comedy throughout. It is not going to win and Oscar, but it is entertaining.
