Extremely slow boring start. Bad script, very few real funny moments, not enough action. Good actors but so badly directed by wadlow. Very boring background music like you get watching a B movie.asr twenty minutes were amusing with more action. But if a shame. If it was directed better script better, this could have been a good movie with these actors.

Such a bad movie. The premise is fun enough, if not exactly fresh - writer lives through the adventures of his fictional character is a well worn trope. Kevin James is credible and even endearing in the role, and moves competently through the action sequences. But boy the script needs work. The movie never becomes truly funny, or gripping, or romantic or anything, really. A waste of time and of a generally good casting (with the notable exception of Zulay Henao as Rosa Bolivar - she was outright painful to watch. Her general styling was cringeworthy at best, and her acting was atrocious. Do better, Netflix. We need credible female leads even in mediocre movies. This wooden, over-made up, soft-spoken kitten in skin-tight clothes and huge heels should be a hardened DEA agent? Just no).
