What to Know

Critics Consensus

Satirizing Brat Summer and the pitfalls of pop stardom, The Moment is a mockumentary that could've used sharper barbs, but Charli XCX acquits herself well as a presence that can bind even an unwieldy movie together.

Yes, Charli is playing a version of herself, but she does it well. Go to Full Review

Charli XCX's strenuous attempts to cheekily bury both herself and her Vroom Vrooming pop-tart anxieties six-feet metaphorically under add up to little more than Doomscroll Spinal Tap. Go to Full Review

The most unbelievable misstep is the filmmakers failing to include more of Charli's music, which is why we're interested in her to begin with. Go to Full Review

A lot of credit should go to the star for being unafraid of making fun of herself... a genuine attempt at some really good acting. Go to Full Review

The Moment takes audiences back to Brat Summer and explores the urge to make a viral moment last as long as possible. It's outrageously hilarious at times as it pokes fun at the music industry and its robotic approach to chasing trends. Go to Full Review

Remy 16h For only the hardcore XC fans See more mvb 17h A little more depressing than I expected but Charli did a great job See more Kenneth 17h the concept is really cool. pacing was a little weird and I didn't love the music video filter film quality. Rachel Sennott was the best cameo. I think it would have jelled a bit better if we could have gotten a glimpse of what Charli was like making the album and then seeing her unravel as the music machine chewed her up and spit it her out. See more Brandon 18h The movies honestly wouldve made more sense as a typical tour documentary it wasnt baltnantly a See more Nicholas B 1d brat summer forever (also 10/10 most introspective pop star movie I've ever seen) See more Elliott 2d it’s a new form of the art of emotions within this mockumentary. It’s definitely a weird feeling when her tour turned out so different than the movie. It’s weird seeing it after seeing her twice on tour already. But overall it’s genuinely great.
