Rating: 80%. I actually really liked this Fast and Furious. Of course its sad to not have Brian anymore, but they did a great job of making it entertaining and funny. Having Vin Diesel go against his team, I think was a great creative decision. Of course, you can't think too hard on movies like this. Overall, the characters had some good banter, the stakes were high, and the action scenes were sick.

The movie is good, no doubt about it. But I don't think it was necessary to continue after the 7th movie. Plus... the whole espionage thing's gone too far now, and the lines were really crossed. Even though it's still possible to ignore and tolerate this, I think cars are merely decorative elements in the narrative.

I struggle to give any of this series more than 3.5 stars due to crassness, ridiculousness, predictability and over the top acting. But there's no doubt it's entertaining!
