Gordon Jennings (Idris Elba) and his friends enjoy a luxurious lifestyle funded by bank robberies, and they avoid capture by sticking to a strict set of rules. As they celebrate the latest job, a former associate arrives with a daring plan to rob an armored car. The lure of so much cash is too tempting to resist but, unbeknown to Gordon's men, this heist puts them on a collision course with Russian mobsters and a detective (Matt Dillon) who will do anything to capture them.

Without spoiling the movie for you, I'm just going to say this... The ending is way to open ended, and could have been better executed. Spoiler alert... They could have used the financial guys plain to get away at end of the movie, or shown how the guys get onto the final flight "get away plane", but the just driving aways thing wasn't a good ending to a good movie. Final take for me, I'd recommend you watch the movie, but hold onto your seat because you're going on an emotional rollercoaster of an action movie.

Takers delivers on exactly what was advertised. Over-the-top action, some interesting heists, poor acting, even poorer character development and an overall entertaining popcorn flick. Honestly, my biggest gripe with this film is the surplus of characters with minimal development. Take out the brothers or swap them for the Walker/Elba duo and there could have been something there. Unfortunately, because of the shallow characters and relationships, the third act redemption feels unwarranted. Looking at the writing credits, everything makes sense: re-writes and too many writers in the room made for a convoluted mess. That being said, seeing a tattooed, fedora-wearing Hayden Christensen made this movie worth it. Best Character: AJ Best Quote: "We're takers, gents. That's what we do for a living.
