Kip T @bumpsetspike Jan 26 I have found that movies from China are very pandering. The Meg movies, Transformers (although I love Stanley Tucci) and now this. Here is the common theme. The capitalist bad guy(the west), the brilliant and technologically advanced Chinese, the central government always comes to the rescue as the hero, add in some random acton scenes, cheesy story line but some cool effects and there you have another one. If they could put aside their agenda I suspect they could create some amazing movies. It was exciting and had beautiful effects. I wish I could ride a monorail like in the move! Minus the erupting volcano of course! The disaster scenes are rather impressive, but the rest of the film around the mayhem is barely even there. Which is a shame, since the fun parts of the film are fun.
