It’s a messy simulation where shock replaces substance. The sequence with the half-slaughtered goat is egregious; a masterclass in amateur cinematography that mistakes nausea for surrealism. The OST is an act of erasure, set in Mumbai, it ignores local talent for a 'curated' English and Cambodian playlist. This is pure artistic tourism, using peaceful monks as mere props for an 'alt' vibe. Most cynical is the exploitation of a perceived 'Third World' aesthetic, a transparent attempt to manufacture ‘gritty’ buy-in from the West by over-glorifying the struggles of a developing nation. Even Radhika Apte and rest of the cast couldn't save this disjointed wreckage. It is not art; it is a tedious performance for the Western gaze.
