After his father is injured, young Haakon Haakonsen takes a job as a cabin boy aboard a ship in order to support his family. There, he befriends shipmate Jens, who teaches Haakon how to be a sailor. Midway through the voyage, a girl named Mary is found stowed away. This, coupled with the untimely death of the captain, spurs a mutiny that ultimately sinks the ship, leaving Haakon and Mary shipwrecked on a desert island.

Stian Smestad plays the lead kid and he is passable as an actor. There are a few scenes that he is in that should have been reshot because he didn’t nail his line. The story sounds good, but I didn’t relate to any of the characters, so I found myself not completely following the movie. If the premise sounds like something you would enjoy, then check it out. The plot feels like a mix of Treasure Island and Home Alone, even though it's based on a Norwegian book that came before either of those stories.
