The cast was good and acting was great. Especially Julia Robert's. But I found it a little confusing constantly jumping back and forth in time. Ending was great though.

Billy Ray’s Secret in Their Eyes is a gripping drama thriller about a cold case reignited when investigator Ray Kasten believes he’s found the killer. Known for screenwriting hits like The Hunger Games and Captain Phillips, Ray delivers an emotional story through two timelines tied to the murder of Jessica Cobb’s daughter. With strong performances from Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the film focuses less on investigation and more on the emotional weight of revenge, ending with a powerful message. While pacing and acting shine, flaws include a weak B plot and implausible reasoning for the unsolved case. A remake of the Spanish El secreto de sus ojos, it may lack the depth of its source but remains a solid, compelling thriller for a relaxed Sunday.

Chiwetel Ejiofor is once again a sad-sack sorrowful character devoid of any emotion other than angst, Nicole Kidman needs to forget the realms of romantic lead as her quality of acting and star appeal has waned. Two ‘stars’ that are not drawcards for this film. Julia Roberts is solid and unenhanced surgically or with make-up however, adds little to the story with her performance.
