Christopher Pepper (Peter Lawford) and Charles Salt (Sammy Davis Jr.) are hip Soho nightclub owners enjoying the good life -- until a secret agent turns up dead in their club. They find her diary and, pursuing the case on their own, discover a sinister plot to overthrow the British government, masterminded by a certain Col. Woodstock (John Le Mesurier). Salt and Pepper have a tough time getting anyone to believe their story until Col. Balsom (Ernest Clark) of MI5 hires them to foil the plot.

Salt and Pepper is at least nominally a comedy. But it contains scenes too violent to be absorbed by the comedy form and becomes a weird exercise in inconsistency: We're never quite sure whether to expect a pratfall or an immolation.

I LOVED the movie. I found it to be funny and whomever stated above that Sammy Davis can't act don't know what they're talking about. For me, I found it very entertaining and would watch it over and over.

Peter Lawford was a mediocre actor at best and Sammy Davis can't act at all. Playslike a commedy but jokes fall flat. Period piece that should stay buried.

It’s funny but not too much, and in one point of the movie it feels that it supposed to end and no, there’s a half hour more of this, so the fun ended. On the bright side, the psicodelia of the 60s is here and that’s nice.

Tier two Rat Packers Peter Lawford and Sammy Davis Jr. are London club owners who's lives become a series of wacky hijinks after a mobster comes by their establishment. It's an awfully force comedy that somehow managed to be successful enough to spawn a sequel. Sammy is charming, though I've never understood the appeal of Lawford. Sinatra sings over the end credits, but I think this film is only for Rat Pack completionists.
