Rocky II Reviews
I thought rocky 2 was absolutely perfect
Rocky II isn’t just a sequel, it’s a 15‑round love letter to grit. Between diaper changes and dead‑end jobs, Rocky’s fighting more than just an opponent — he’s fighting doubt, pride, and the clock. The training montage? Pure goosebumps. When the bell rings, this isn’t about who’s the champ — it’s about proving you can take life’s hardest hits and still rise before the count of ten.
HE DID IT (SPOILER WARNING) Rocky 2 Is such a fun movie but does have its flaws. The film follows Rocky who after his SD loss to Creed doesn’t wanna fight no more and spends his fight purse on a dog and clothes. Creed is furious about it cause people think he lost the fight. After Rocky needs to find money he accepts the rematch with Creed and gets to training but during training Adrian gives birth to their son which Rocky goes full beast mode for his training. Fight Night comes and Rocky is getting beaten badly but after the 3rd round Rocky finds his way and start giving Apollo his best shots. In the final round both Rocky and Creed fall to the canvas which both of them fighting to get up Rocky the only one to beat the count beating Creed and winning the title. Rocky 2 like I said at the start a fun movie but is very dull for me. At some moments the movie is just really Rocky life after success and going back to beat Creed not like the true heart and passion in the first movie. Overall Rocky 2 is a fun edition to the franchise and gets a score of 6/10.
Rocky is one of the rare franchises where every single movie is good. There are so many of them.
Rocky II suffers from an excessive narrative focus on Balboa's family life, but its final thirty minutes and Carl Weathers' campy performance still deliver immense entertainment.
Rocky was better than Apollo by 1 second
Great sequel yo Adrian I did it!
Honestly better than the original
Rated PG for Language and Boxing Action and Violence Throughout. 1 hour and 59 minutes of the rematch of Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Less then the first one but still good.
It’s not PC to say but Rocky 2 is a better film than Rocky it tells the story of a man humiliated into a rematch with the Master of disaster himself the ridiculous talented Apollo Creed ! And the film has better fight scenes the characters are more well rounded it is a better film in every way and deserves 92% on rotten tomatoes no question about that unfortunately instead of just asking my opinion we have to let everyone have a say , But Rocky 2 tell the story not just of Rocky but Apollo Creed himself and ya can’t ask for more then that can you !
Pretty good, and less outdated, but more predictable.
My same thought as the last movie
The moment Adrian tells Rocky “win”, the film goes from being very good to phenomenal. Greatest training sequence and fight scenes ever.
I think the final fight is as intense or even more intense than the one in Rocky I! My hands were very tense. The first hour has a sadder tone, that is why some people might not like it that much. But I think it was absolutely necessary! Great sequel.
"Rocky II" is the exception that gives me undue optimism for all sequels. There's the expression, "This film didn't NEED a sequel." And yes, "Rocky" didn't NEED a sequel. But if it didn't, we would have missed out on one of the most prevalent movie franchises of all time. I hold out hope whenever a "unnecessary" sequel comes out, maybe it will be as good as "Rocky II". "Rocky II" is every bit as good as the original Best Picture Winner. People look back on it now and think that is too similar to the first. I think part of that narrative comes from the fact that later Rocky sequels are so radically different in tone from the original. Rocky III and IV are action films, where the first two are both dramas. "Rocky" has one of the most emotionally satisfying endings in cinema history. "Rocky II" asks the question of, "What happens after this fairy tale ending?" Life and reality comes catching up with him. And what ensues is an emotionally gripping and deeply personal story. The training, the fighting, the dialogue, Rocky's financial trouble, the romance and even the ending are all-natural step ups from the first. This film gives more time for Apollo to shine as a character. It shows Rocky trying to shoulder the responsibilities of being a husband and soon to be father. Paulie has matured and is a more likable character but is still true to who he is. The way things are paid off, this feels like a sequel that was always planned. I absolutely LOVE this movie. I've seen it over a dozen times, and it still holds up to this day. Stop reading this review and just go and watch the film.
ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY!
Piggybacking right off of the original, 'Rocky 2' soars with iconic moments and standout performances.
Much like the first, Rocky 2 delivers a fun time and a satisfying climax!
