Paris Can Wait Reviews
It preceded Emily in Paris, but is in a similar vein; American woman goes to France and gets to learn about life in France with the help of a Frenchman. The romantic side is subordinate to what seems to be a tour of expensive hotels and restaurants. The acting is good, but the film lacks anything much of a plot.
Diane Lane plays another adulterer in picturesque France. The only role she gets. Not worth the time.
Continuous cliche of the French - both culture and inhabitants. Predictable, boring and a dreadful waste of time. We couldn't get past the first 25 minutes...even that was just to give Baldwin a chance.
The was terribly boring and a waste of time.
Wife and I were bored 15 minutes in and I can't believe we stuck with it. Kinda trusted Diane Lane or the story to come to life, but grew increasingly frustrated as that failed to happen. When the credits popped up on the screen we were surprised that THAT was the story, but relieved it was over.
What was the purpose? It didn't answer any questions. Instead, it left me with a lot of questions. Why was the business associate broke? Why was he driving her all over? Why didn't the husband show up? What was up with the ending? Why was she taking all the pictures all the time? The camera clicking was the most annoying sound ever. Terrible! This movie isn't even Hallmark worthy. It's definitely giving Tubi vibes.
I can't wait to move to southern France with my Frenchman for the same reasons! European life is more my style!!
Ok, I love France, but i didn't expert to watch 1 1/2 jours of a frustrated lonely chainsmoking French man bragging about wind and dood while a flat character is sitting on the order side of the table. Many sceneries are not shot as they say they are. Alain, I love France, but hated this cheap movie.
I like it and have enjoyed watching it about three times now. The first time I was taken aback by the kiss, but I am more comfortable with it now.
Brilliant...this movie is what happens when you put your cell phone away and just let life happen. Provocative, but meditative to watch. I could easily watch this again.
I loved this movie. It still surprises me that it's not rated higher.
Beautiful Movie. The people who does not like this type of movies is because they have not experience traveling abroad. The food, the beautiful places and the HISTORY... A must movie to watch
Super boring and cheesy, terrible ending
Darling, seduction road trip. Thought it was subtle with fantastic chemistry bubbling below, but near, the surface. The two stars masterfully handled the materiel and the ambiguity. Delightful.
Charming film with leads that have chemistry and are my age (finally!). Diane Lane’s character feels lost, with a grown up child and a husband who doesn’t really notice her anymore. I completely identified and found myself as swept away as she was. I restarted it and watched it again!
It's unfortunate how bland and boring this sweet little drama is despite having a lovely story with a pleasant aesthetic.
Quite boring. No real plot, it just makes me think I might like to take a driving vacation in France. Kept waiting for something to happen but nothing did.
Overall, if you enjoy an easy paced film with light hearted comedy and romance this will be a enjoyable film for you. The film is also very clean with its dialogue thanks to a PG rating. I found the film's dialogue enjoyable and well written even if the film may not carry a demanded repeat viewing. Diane Lane gives once again a kind and pleasant performance on screen as we share Anne's road trip and her discovering passion for life once again. - Finesse Movie Reviews
