Somewhere around the lovely scene of Tilda Swinton dancing, freely and wholeheartedly, to the old soul record, Jarmusch's M.O. becomes clear: 'Only Lovers Left Alive' is a hanging-out move, just with vampires.

For being such a cool movie, there is something shockingly lame and relatable about a vampire just sinking down the rabbit hole of his pet interests, collecting rare guitars, and remixing his own compositions into oblivion.

Rather far up its own ass, but with a fantastic soundtrack, sound design, and some very nice shots, OLLA is nevertheless too slow for its own good and too pretentious and somehow still predictable to impress.

Two healthy vampires have trouble lifting up a dead body into the trunk of a car? Tilda Swinton poorly cast. Too old for this role especially when a defining feature of vampires is their youthful appearance.

If I’m not giving it 1 star is only because of the beautiful cinematography scenes as well as the musics chosen. As for the movie itself, this is probably the most pointless movie ever made. You’d be puzzled the whole time trying to figure out "ok? So?" There are a lot better options for killing time that to watch this movie!

I found this movie boring as hell. It's got some nice cinematography but was just too slow pace and very little really happened. I guess if you like mundane realistic story lines you'd probably like this but I certainly did not.
