SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch Jun 14 One Fast Move (2024) is a motocross film about a young man trying to reconnect with his estranged father and find answers to why he walked away. KJ Apa plays the lead role, but honestly, it feels strange seeing him here after his time on Riverdale. He’s a lot thinner now and seems to lack the presence and confidence that made him a standout actor back then. His performance falls a bit flat, and it brings the whole story down because you just don’t connect with him the way you should in a role like this. The film itself feels all over the place. It strays from its main story — the father-son relationship — and adds subplots that seem unnecessary. The girlfriend’s role, for example, feels underdeveloped and extraneous; it’s a piece of the story that could have been cut altogether without affecting much. The true heart of the film lies in the bond between father and son and the world of motocross, and it should have kept its focus there. Ultimately, One Fast Move is an okay watch if you want something to pass the time, but it’s not a film you’d come back to or remember. It’s a missed opportunity to tell a rich, intimate story about reconciliation and growing up, weighed down by weak character choices and a lack of direction. La fin plutôt attendue ne nuit pas à l'envergure du message et au déroulé de l'histoire du jeune héros. Le rythme très soutenu et fluide des scènes répond à celui des courses de vitesse. La musique ajoute à la réussite du film et au tableau d'une certaine vie américaine. C'est avec sensibilité et finesse que Kelly Blatz nous brosse plusieurs portraits attachants. One Fast Move is an Absolute must-see! The raw acting, and true talent of the racers on the track will keep you on the edge of your seat.
