They wait until the end of the movie to 'kill the cat', as writers say. There is nothing uplifting unless you are tunnel-vision on the mother-daughter story and it is a very simplistic story without much depth. See more AA A May 11 I see the main character. A Native American sci-fi movie 🤯💕 Disney can't do justice to put more Native American faces on the big screen. I finally am able to see myself in those characters 💖 until this year, I am finally seeing the vast cultures of Native Americans! I love it! Many will not understand it. I understand. I still talk to the birds too. This film is a absolute gem, and I can understand why Waititi was willing to Exec produce it. Yes, it is slow-paced at times, but this is a forgivable matter. The film's poignant messages about past, future, and present redeem it. For anyone who has spent any time interacting with indigenous US and Canadian folks, from this non-indigienous person who has done so, it seems to mesh well with my understanding of indigenous culture.
