Blu B Nov 10 The acting isn't good. It's like most of the people in this realize it's not good so were just gonna phone in the performance. Cage is terrible honestly. His demeanor goes from miscast, sleepwalking, just bad, to that special kind of Cage acting only his fans know. The dialouge is clunky, and I have to say it's crazy seeing Moore phone in things it feels like given I always see her trying even in subpar stuff. Worst performance I've ever see from her. Bad guys are as forgettable as they come and feel like an afterthought. The music is generic and forgettable. Everything else is subpar and the biggest strike here is the plot is just ridiciulous and beyond farfetched. There is brief flashes here and there of something clever and good. Like the diner scene where he meets Biel is a good idea and the Memento style editing is a cool idea but it just isn't focused, jumps around between Cage, the bad guys, and Moore. Than it starts getting boring during the shootout at the docks because it just gets repetitive with Cage leading them to a scenario, telling what's gonna happen, than moving on rinse and repeat. Than the twist he got it wrong and its all a dream just makes no sense. It's not clear what real and fake and isn't clever enough to do that idea the right way like a David Lynch. The action is either as generic as they come or has terribly bad CGI. Skip this. Just a bad action flick. But the general premise and execution is pretty good. It doesn't necessarily keep you on the edge of your seat, but its engaging, plus the twist is really good. See more Bobby J @Bob_K_Jones_III Aug 16 This is the second time I have watched this movie and it is thoroughly entertaining. I really don’t know why people have generally panned the movie. As a person who can see two minutes into the future - and hours if not days into the future when it relates to his destined romantic partner Liz Cooper - Cris Johnson can excel in blackjack in Vegas, escape the eye in the sky hawks trying to spot card counters, and disarm criminals trying to hold up the Casino cash-in window. This entertaining start to the movie doesn’t let up, and the cat and mouse games between Cris and the cops flows nicely to the main plot. The FBI needs Cris to foil a group who has stolen a nuclear warhead and intends to use it. This Memento / Deja Vu style movie, while not quite as good as these two blockbusters that make you question the nature of linear time, is more than sufficiently entertaining.
