His heart recently broken, plastic surgeon Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler) pretends to be married so he can enjoy future dates with no strings attached. His web of lies works, but when he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) -- the gal of his dreams -- she resists involvement. Instead of coming clean, Danny enlists Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), his assistant, to pose as his soon-to-be-ex-wife. Instead of solving Danny's problems, the lies create more trouble.

Another run-of-the-mill Sandler flick. It’s kinda like eating fast food; nobody really wants to eat there, but it’s fast and it’s easy and it’s right there.

47%. 1/24/26. Quite a bad film for having a very good cast. Just an incredibly stupid concept - like we're supposed to believe Jennifer Aniston's beauty has been hiding in the shadows. And his whole con is just ridiculous if he actually wanted to be with Brooklyn Decker's character. Even the revelation of him wanting to be with Jen in the end was dim. A few funny moments, but even Nick Swardson had trouble getting laughs out of me in this. 0/5 rewatch

I like this movie in my opinion the plot just carries out too long, but I do like it and I like the whole idea of it but I feel like there’s like more Adam Sandler movies with better romantic plots, but I do like this movie

I liked this a lot more than I expected. Don't know why I happened to not watch it before, I like a lot of Sandler movies (not all). It was a great remake of Cactus Flower. The gross humor didn't land as well as it does in some of his others, but it wasn't excessive. And I was really surprised that this made me like Nicole Kidman a lot more. Plus those kids were so fun to watch, Griffin Gluck was a great performer and I'm surprised that Bailee Madison is not a huge star. The interesting Sting remixes were a surprise too. It's just a silly fun movie with good performances and a decently convincing romance. The romantic turn at the end fell flat though, so that might've hurt it, it was so undramatic after all of the extreme humor and outrageous scenarios.
