James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk Director Peter Walker knows his way around shadows and suspense and violence and intrigue, but any time the film demands something resembling ordinary human interaction, the seams start to show. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 27, 2024 Full Review Alan Jones Starburst The ingredients successfully come together under Peter Walker who invests the strikingly lit proceedings with mood and atmosphere. Jul 29, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Too bad the update doesn't come off as good as it should have been, though it comes through as a campy romp and has a few wonderful moments. Rated: B- Feb 10, 2016 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy [UPDATED 2023 BLU-RAY REVIEW] For such a largely forgotten film, this adaptation of Earl Derr Biggers’ novel Seven Keys to Baldpate holds its fair share of notable achievements. Cameron H. “House of the Long Shadows” is a classic horror/comedy starring the four legends of horror: Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and John Carradine. This film has some great scares, fun twists, and spooky moments. I love the creepy, old house atmosphere, the production design, strong performances from the cast. If you’re a fan of movies like “Clue,” or just enjoy classic horror in general, you have to check out “House of the Long Shadows.” Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/28/25 Full Review Jay W This movie had me sold with the casting. Any film that has Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing is going to naturally emanate the Halloween spirit. The movie took a while to get going. A lot of the setup feels very forced. The question of 'why don't they leave?' or 'why should he care?' will pop up a few times. The movie then gets really good. Then it is capped off with one of the most bonkers endings I have ever seen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/27/25 Full Review Lily C I don't know why it got such a low rating. It was so suspenseful and intriguing. It had a great twist and great acting. The cast was also amazing with talented actors. I highly recommend watching it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/25 Full Review Jolige D I liked this a lot. Just relax and enjoy the horror masters of old. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review sean s Dark, dingy photography with a lame script and bad acting from the main character: Desi Arnaz Jr. Several movie greats show up Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and John Carradine, but could not save this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 'House of the Long Shadows' is a wonderful, underrated gothic horror-comedy gem that perfectly plays to the strengths of every actor. It’s tonally all-over-the-place and features plenty of leaps in logic, but it’s an entertaining little mystery-farce that also makes a perfect last hurrah for these genre legends.
