Buddy W @BuddyW 2d Fun yet dumb campy slasher flick that for some reason reminds me of Slumber Party Massacre II - maybe because of its look. They were filmed the same year, so maybe it's an aesthetic thing. It does have some genuinely creepy moments, some decent gore (the elevator bit is a doozy), and a likeable cast of 30-year-olds pretending to be 17. See more Wyatt J 10/09/2023 this horror/slasher film isn't the best one to watch if you're a fan of them. I like the idea about teens spending the night in a furniture store to celebrate graduating high school and playing hide and go seek for a horror/slasher film but it just didn't translate to screen well. I had a couple of problems as well with the movie as well 1. To much sex: I can't count how many times the teenager's were horny as fuck. I swear it just seemed like every time they went off and hide one of the couples would have sex. 2. The characters: the characters weren't great. I can say they had potential to be good horror/slasher film characters. They were so bad i gave them nicknames such as knock off Ken and potential porno actress. 3. The scares: the scares aren't even scary. I swear every time they did have a jump scare it didn't scare me and i want to have a good jump scare in a horror/slasher film. In conclusion not the best horror/slasher film to watch if you're a fan of those's types of films. See more 07/19/2020 Without a doubt one of the queerest horror flicks I've ever seen. And I say that in the most positive way. As a gay man and an uber fan of the horror genre it's hard to see myself in most of my favorite horror delights. So I am eternally scavaging the genre for films that appeal to my more colorful side. This late 80s slasher is about a group of friends who decide to spend the night in a furniture warehouse. They wanna party, have sex and play hide and go seek. What starts off as an innocent game soon turns to horror as they discover someone's knocking them off one by one. Besides the main twist the movie is overly homoerotic. The boys are always shirtless talking to close and fawning over eachother. It's almost as if the females are a side note. On a slasher level the movie works. It's fun with some great kills and a solid atmosphere of suspense. And it's the type of movie where the victims are smart enough to band together and fight back. I'm not saying this is high art but for what it is its damn entertaining. It's a trashy little retro slasher that's a criminally underseen hidden gem. 7/10 See more 03/24/2018 Decent slasher film, with an interesting (if not very surprising) twist. It's fun and has some likeable characters, with the exception of one particularly bad actress. But that just adds to the cheesy fun of the whole thing. Worth checking out if you're a slasher fan. See more 07/26/2014 A thoroughly mediocre 80s slasher that takes place almost entirely in a furniture store after hours where a group of young people are hanging out, copulating, etc. Hide and Go Shriek (aka Don't Panic) is a pretty tedious piece of cinema that will only interest slasher fans who have seen everything else.
