See more DanTheMan 2 08/14/2023 If you ever thought that Enter the Dragon featured too much Bruce Lee and not enough gymnastics, Director Robert Clouse has you covered, as he was kind enough to remake it as Gymkata. Rather fitting I ended up watching this the day after I saw Enter the Dragon on the big screen. It's a movie that takes itself very seriously which often leads to unintentional hilarity but is made with such passion you can't help but love how awful it is. Filled with paper-thin plots, dumb characters and preposterous situations, Clouse doesn't miss any opportunity for gymnastics-based kung fu whether it makes sense or not. Joining the likes of Rad with its casting of a real-life Olympic athlete amongst the cast, Gymkata definitely fulfils the promise of its premise with utter cheese and devoted sincerity.
