Rosie D. @Rosieeeee Mar 13 Having lived through very similar situations, I felt every bit of Frances’s struggle. It’s hard being perpetually out of step with the world. She’s got that same messy, awkward charm as Fleabag, though I found the sudden shift to a happy ending a little hard to swallow after all that gloom, but maybe I’m just not ready for that much optimism yet. While it's funny from time to time, the overall effect is sadness as Frances struggles to make her life work. I really identified with the character the first time I saw it, maybe 30 years ago, this time not so much but a really enjoyable film that seems very timely today. It really reminded me of my friend who was very similar in her endeavors in the Big Apple. Saw in Tubi.
