Maegan did a very good job, but Taye Diggs was horrible!!! He whispered almost ever line. I had to blast my volume just to hear him speak. To make matters worst, his acting was pathetic and his casting in the lead romantic role killed the movie. Him and Maegan kissed over 15 times in the film and the kisses were so awkward that it made the relationship between them very unrealistic. No chemistry whatsoever!! My wife and I loved Taye in The Best Man series, but I hate to say that with this film, he may have put an end to his career. At first, it feels like a simple relationship drama, but the story eventually takes a heartbreaking turn that genuinely lands. That emotional shift is easily the strongest part of the movie and the moment that stays with you the longest. Unfortunately, the film does not fully earn that impact because the early portions do not spend enough time developing the central relationship. With more buildup, the emotional payoff could have been far more powerful. After reaching its most effective moment, the movie continues in a new direction that feels unnecessary and drawn out, weakening the overall impact. The pacing becomes uneven, and the story loses some focus. While the screenplay has good ideas, it lacks consistency and depth in places.
