Excision is a confronting, incredibly upsetting and entertaining film with two iconic performances by AnnaLynne McCord and Traci Lords. It's witty, caustic, profane and sexy and that's all before the devastating ending absolutely destroys you.

It's a comedy/drama with a pinch of horror, and its three genres work perfectly, jumping from repulsive to comical to depressing moments smoothly. The family members' relationship with each other is its main strength and quality

ERichard Bates Jr.'s debut is a deeply unsettling psychological character study dressed in the skin of a high school misfit movie—with surgical gloves on and plenty of blood to spare. Excision is a disturbingly original take on adolescent alienation—artful, audacious, and emotionally raw. Not for the squeamish, but hard to forget.
