Ryan L @RT27360424 Mar 11 This was supposed to be an R-rated movie, so get the Unrated Version for sure. Stupid, funny, and broken lizard did their thing. Maybe it’s the southern one-liners or it’s just the nostalgia for me, but I always have a good time with this movie! It’s a great "throw something on the tv" movie. Not every movie has to be schindlers list. Of course it’s not Ruth’s Chris, but hell sometimes you just wanna hit the McDonald’s drive through and get a kids meal with a toy. I appreciate the original TV show and I love the original actors/characters... more authentic looking actors, more real comedy. The original had likable, cute, funny, full-on southern ppl and I love it... this movie was a waste and insulting to the real art of the classic TV series. I watched it with fresh eyes and open mind, I was entertained by the raunchy comedy, over the top stunts and hillbilly caricatures... it dares to defy the standard and stands out as a unique take on a classic piece of media It's a unique film because it's short comings are in many ways its best qualities... I can appreciate introspection or character depth but I can also appreciate Jessica Simpson in booty short and a model in a bikini every 5 minutes (there were so many)... It was a raunchy comedy that made sense for the time and context it was produced and it fit a specific type of humour that no longer exists in 2025. Why compare it to the series or original?, even the critdicks do that?, but never mind. Goofy fun, good ol' boys and just mayhem 🤪 The cast all performs convincingly and after I've seen "the making of" it, a lot went into the movie.
