Isa B @RT32418990 Jan 20 This film has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Dead Presidents is a good film with great elements. It is most certainly entertaining, but the story is uneven. It is a film without genre, which is fine because life is without genre. I love this movie, but it isn't great. It has great cinematography, great acting and like I said before, an all-time great soundtrack. The dialog is good, but the presentation of the story just feels unbalanced. I think this motion picture would have been great as a series. This would have given the piece more time to develop the story. Dead Presidents is a good film despite its flaws. The cast is solid and occasionally electric. Chris Tucker brings brief bursts of energy and humor, and the ensemble sells the brotherhood formed through shared trauma. Still, the emotional payoff never fully lands. The transition between military life and civilian reality feels fragmented, as if the film can’t decide which story it wants to prioritize. There are undeniably strong and memorable moments, but as a whole, Dead Presidents feels more historically important than personally impactful today. The only thing I could remember was Chris Tucker's eyes glazed over. And that's it. So, I gave it a try recently, and I had to watch it twice in order to give it a fair assessment. I know what the film wanted to say, but it just didn't touch me in that way. I just became annoyed that the film wasn't executed better.
