In the debut film from trailblazing music producer Jimmy Humilde's production company, aspiring small town musician Chito (Jay Dee) is determined to make it big. When a clip of him performing one of his songs goes viral, he seizes the opportunity and pushes to carve out a place for himself in the new wave of Mexican-American music... and ultimately gets caught in a game more dangerous than anticipated. In a story of ambition, tradition, and self-discovery, Chito is ultimately forced to confront the choices he's made in his relentless pursuit of the American Dream.

Clika is an amateurish drama that wants desperately to be like Eminem's 8 Mile, but it's as appealing as a rusty microphone. This story (about a wannabe music star caught up in drug dealing) has stale clichés. The acting performances are stiff.

I really liked the story line! I love Herencia De Patrones so watching the movie with their music playing was pretty cool. Went on a date with my man to watch it and we had a good time.

Clika is Rancho Humilde’s version of 8-Mile/Belly/Paid In Full/etc. It’s not a bad movie and the music is what absolutely makes the movie a 2 start movie but the story, while a good one, wasn’t told/written well enough and was almost predictable. Jay Dee is a first time actor and it shows but his voice is truly unique and arguably a legend in the “corridos alterados/verde” genre but this movie, if graded, is a solid C.

Synopsis
