Jeff J @newmexjeff Feb 13 I was already a big fan of Holly Hunter (Raising Arizona), William Hurt (Body Heat, Altered States) and Albert Brooks (Lost in America, Modern Romance) so I was interested in seeing them in the same movie. I was not disappointed. It's an interesting portrayal of unconventional romances and the news industry. Even the secondary characters are good: Joan Cusack, and Lois Chiles have memorable scenes. Or, did Albert Brooks simply not have any mojo? This is the best movie about contemporary TV journalism since Network and in some ways may even best it. Paddy Chayevsky's vision was broader and grander while James L. Brooks' was more sharply focused. Network seemed like farce as it was a prescient warning of the future. Appearance vanquishing intelligence in "broadcast news" was well underway, having started around the time of Network's release with "Action News" clones. The two films together make a complimentary pair of comedy and satire. Compare Peter Finch's Howard Beale from 1976 and William Hurt's Tom Grunick in 1987. Now fold in David Muir and others like him today. Would there be any room for a Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley today? See more thiago S @Thiagostone Jul 28 Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são mais ou menos, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom, e o filme deveria mostrar mais cenas diferentes dos bastidores do noticiário, mas em muitas cenas de romance e isso deixou o filme um pouco fraco.
