Deckard (Harrison Ford) is forced by the police Boss (M. Emmet Walsh) to continue his old job as Replicant Hunter. His assignment: eliminate four escaped Replicants from the colonies who have returned to Earth. Ridley Scott ought to be a set decorator, rather than a director. In Blade Runner, he loses sight of the story while devoting all his attention to decor and lighting. The decor and lighting, it must be admitted, are stupendous.

Maybe its because I watched this film for the first time in 2026 but I found it highly overrated. I liked the sets and the comics were great but I just felt like this film left so much out. Harrison Ford's voiceovers were also very awkward and unnecessary. I thought the acting was decent from the Replicants but this wasn't Harrison Ford's best moment in film that's for sure.

Ahead of its time many movies want to be a sci fi noir type movie but always fail to deliver but this movie does it right and no movie will ever do it the way this movie did .

Un regalo da parte di questo film è la favolosa interpretazione di Harrison Ford che in un film tutt'altro che semplice dà il massimo e riesce ad immedesimarsi alla perfezione in un personaggio disilluso e solo, che alla luce che talvolta illumina la sua casa riflette profondamente, seduto su una poltrona. Certo Blade runner è anche un bellissimo film per chi cerca azione, inseguimenti e scene anche un po' violente. Gli inseguimenti sotto la pioggia, tra la gente, con il protagonista che mira al bersaglio cercando di evitare la moltitudine di gente che passeggia per quella sporca Los Angeles. Blade runner è una parabola sull'uomo e l'eternità, l'uomo che cerca il suo creatore, che cerca una motivo per cui tutto ciò che ha vissuto deve andare perduto, perché non vuole che questo succeda. Il protagonista con i suoi occhi vedrà tutto ciò capendo il significato. Blade runner è il miglior film di Ridley Scott, senza dubbio, un autentico capolavoro

Great to see this classic having a rerun on the big IMAX screen 44 years after its initial release. Sure 2019 didn’t quite reach those dizzy heights of space colonies and near perfect robots, but what with the constant rain in LA and everyone still smoking like chimneys? However the Coca Cola and Budweiser product placements were spot on! But seriously this was a great sci-fi movie for its time. Hugely enjoyable to watch again all these decades later. The Vangelis soundtrack has stood the test of time and the special effects leave some more recent ones for dead. Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer have stellar performances. Wonderful memories …
