Average Joe Reviews
Average Joe (2024) tells the story of a man who stands up for his right to pray and defends the religious freedoms of his fellow countrymen. Shot in the style of a fake documentary, the film blends staged interviews and dramatized moments, yet it’s rooted in real events, which gives it a raw and compelling edge. As someone who is neither American nor Christian, I didn’t expect to connect so strongly with the subject matter. Yet, the film managed to stir real anger in me toward a system that would try to stop someone from practicing their religion in public. It offers a revealing look into the prejudice some Christians face in the U.S., which isn’t often explored from an outsider’s perspective. The documentary-style approach adds authenticity, making the struggles and small victories of the main character feel immediate and personal. While it’s not a flawless film, it’s a decent and thought-provoking one. I would recommend it to anyone curious about the challenges of being a Christian in America and the broader themes of personal freedom and standing up for one’s beliefs.
Ridiculous Hallmark tier slop - though I am sure it's very emotionally gripping for lobotomites. Two stars for knowing how to please its target demographic.
Amazing movie a true must see film of hope and faith through adversity
Fantastic movie. Another example that Christian movies can be way better than Hollywood. Nice story, actors that care, and no programming necessary
Amazing movie. And the attention to detail. Down to the authentic label on the Levi Jean for that period.
I liked the movie because it showed how real life situations can be different and difficult. I'm glad to see good, wholesome movies that I can invite my grandkids to see.
You will not make it through the whole movie, whatever part you make it through will probably be the worst movie you have seen all year (and maybe next year too) . There are alot of good Christian movies that are not really really really bad, this is not one of them. I considered converting to Islam.
'Average Joe' most definitely showed that Joe exalted Christ NOT only on the gridiron, but daily in his life at home with his family, as well!
It was a good dialog and relates to our now society
Inspiring and uplifting about fighting for constitution and freedom
As a Marine veteran myself, I relate to his drive to fight to finish without giving up. I missed the point of why we had to listen to those two men talking at the beginning of the movie. Overall the plot of the movie was excellent, even for those of us who aren't football enthusiasts, the games were kept to a minimum. It was an excellent choice for a date night with my wife, who also enjoyed it. It was very emotional, especially to watch Joe's childhood.
I did not expect the first hour of the movie to focus on Joes youth, but I enjoyed and benefited from the outcome.
Excellent, inspirational movie about flawed people making a positive impact on the world. Together, we (imperfect humans ) can make a massive difference, but sometimes only one tries Be the one that tries even when kneeling alone!
Love this movie reminds you that you have to stand up for our freedom or we will lose them
This was a great movie! We have told several people about it!
This was a very humorous method of telling the story of an event that made historic impact on the law protecting basic freedoms!
One of the best movies my husband and I have ever seen. We loved the way the story was told. Its a true story. Its implications were/are monumental. Please go see this movie. We all need Joes strength and obedience in this current age. Standing up against such strong pushback (even family) requires strong intestinal fortitude. Thank you Joe for being obedient. Will watch again soon.
Best movie Ive seen in a long time.. and its a true story!
Fabulous! This movie has it all—and it’s a true story! I was so impressed with the script, acting, cinematography, and the sound design. Powerful!!
