In the end, Apnas’s resources don’t quite stretch to meet its ambitions for a sprawling crime epic. It’s got plenty of front and chutzpah. Go to Full Review

Adam H @Critical007 5h Apnas is a culturally grounded crime and family drama that confronts a question many within South Asian communities avoid. It explores loyalty, identity and truth in a way that feels intimate and recognisable. At its core, the film examines tension within traditional households, particularly the pressures placed on women. It highlights how concealment and half truths become coping mechanisms, before shifting toward a clear message that honesty and open communication with parents are essential, delivered without feeling forced. The two leads carry the film well. Awais embodies discipline, expectation, while MK brings a streetwise unpredictability. Nitin Ganatra is convincing as the traditional Pakistani father, reinforcing the generational divide. The film starts slowly but finds its rhythm, becoming engaging with strong storytelling and well placed cliffhangers. Overall, Apnas is a thoughtful, relatable film with a clear message, leaving room for a compelling sequel. See more Read all reviews
