When Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) is 21, his father (Bill Nighy) tells him a secret: The men in their family can travel through time. Although he can't change history, Tim resolves to improve his life by getting a girlfriend. He meets Mary (Rachel McAdams), falls in love and finally wins her heart via time-travel and a little cunning. However, as his unusual life progresses, Tim finds that his special ability can't shield him and those he loves from the problems of ordinary life.

Sure, some of it is stereotypical but the second half of the film was devastating. The script turns from romantic comedy to a father-son relationship that is charming, yet heartbreaking at the same time.

Although the plot may seem a little chaotic, that is simply part of real life — love and family, friendship and growth. we sometimes imagine traveling back in time to change everything, but eventually come to realize that living in the present is what truly matters

About Time benefits from a very clear, linear narrative that makes the story easy to follow and emotionally effective. Its greatest strength lies in the depth of its simple message and in how successfully it invites empathy, especially through the genuinely moving relationship between father and son. However, some narrative gaps remain: Mary’s parents are oddly absent, and their role in her life is never really defined. The psychological depth of Kit Kat’s storyline also feels underdeveloped and somewhat unresolved. Finally, family life between Mary and Tim appears almost frictionless, lacking the sense of real difficulty that might have added further weight to the story.
