Mel Gibson gives one of his strongest performances as Tom Mullen, a wealthy father whose life unravels when his young son is kidnapped. Gibson masterfully conveys a wide emotional range: from controlled composure to explosive rage, from guilt-ridden self-reflection to unwavering determination. His emotional authenticity makes the audience feel every ounce of the father’s agony and desperation. Gary Sinise is equally exceptional, portraying the cold, calculated antagonist with chilling intensity. His performance elevates the story, making the stakes even higher and every confrontation more gripping. The cat-and-mouse dynamic between Gibson and Sinise is electrifying, and their scenes together carry an unpredictable danger that keeps viewers hooked. Very goofy in some parts. Mel does the highly emotional stuff here pretty well. Not exactly thrilling to be honest. I did like the ending though which is rare for this kind of subject matter.
