A space-time vortex sucks scientist Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell), his assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a survivalist Will (Danny R. McBride) into a world populated by dinosaurs and painfully slow creatures called Sleestaks. With few resources at their disposal, Rick, Holly and Will must rely on their only ally, a primate named Chaka (Jorma Taccone), to try to survive long enough to figure out a way back home.

The sets and CG creatures have a kind of what-the-hell weirdness and tactility that successful recreates the show’s aesthetic on a bigger budget, while Ferrell and McBride still have room to goof around.

I have no idea why this movie has such low reviews. This was a great made comedy with some action and sci-fi scenes thrown in. This is a laugh out loud movie. Danny mcbride and will Ferrell were perfect to work together on this. I've seen this movie 100x and it's funnier everytime I watch it

Land of the Lost was released in theatres in 2009 and is loosely based on the 1974 tv series of the same name. It stars Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, and Anna Friel as they fall into an interdimensional vortex where the past and present all mix. There's literally no plot to this movie just the group wandering from odd set to weirder set. The CGI was PS2 quality and most of the slapstick jokes don't land. I like Danny McBride and he gets a few decent one liners. The highlight for Will Ferrell was dousing himself in dinosaur urine then immediately screaming "I regret that decision", which was kind of funny. But that's it, that's the whole movie. The rest of the film was just listening to bad joke after bad joke with no plot or purpose behind it. This movie was terrible, especially considering how much money was spent making it.
