The premise of the story is not bad, and the character played by buscemi is well developed - we understand his struggles and conflicts. The movie has a few great scenes, and a few great pieces of writing. But all in all it falls flat and is a bit amateurish. A slightly fuzzy satire about fame and loyalty, it only really fires up when the ever-excellent Steve Buscemi is on screen. He plays a sleazeball paparazzo, always on the outside looking in, until a chance encounter with a sleepy hobo (Michael Pitt) offers him unexpected access to the celebrity A-list. It's fun while it lasts, but it's not as original or quirky as it wants to be, and a bit of a disappointment coming from Tom DiCillo. But Buscemi is great.
