Like Father, Like Son (2013) Eve Tushnet Like Father has some of the striking Koreeda trademarks: the extraordinary acting from the children.

Muppets Most Wanted (2014) Eve Tushnet I don't want to watch Muppets modeling responsible communication or having a Defining the Relationship talk, but also, I don't want to watch Kermit the Frog stringing along a pig who's worth five of him.

Dom Hemingway (2013) Eve Tushnet I figured that at some point Dom Hemingway-like Dom Hemingway-would have to choose what it wants to be.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) Eve Tushnet Doughily pointless... Far too much of this movie is repetitive arguments about what I think is supposed to be pacifism, and bland trailer-friendly dialogue.

We Are the Best! (2013) Eve Tushnet Their punk band's big song is called "Hate the Sport!" and it's about how terrible gym class is. I'm grinning right now remembering the scenes... I loved every minute of it.

Maleficent (2014) Eve Tushnet The dialogue is aggressively bland; it's the worst part of the movie by far.

Venus in Fur (2013) Eve Tushnet An unhealthy confection.

Deliver Us From Evil (2014) Eve Tushnet Derrickson has something important to say. He just needs to learn not to say it.

Maps to the Stars (2014) Eve Tushnet Maps to the Stars is a funny, gross movie, with more than a little sleaze.

The Cosmopolitans (2014) Eve Tushnet There's culture-clash comedy of manners, amiable and opinionated youth, and some very fun dialogue.
